Telling "The Land Down Under" The Good News Of Jesus Christ!

“Greetings, to you our dear rope holders”. I come to you with this verse: Psalm 118:23 “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”  It is wonderful to see the hand of God work here at Port Stephens Baptist Church. The question is where do I begin? First of all, we have seen many visitors come to the church via the ad in the paper (Praise God), 15 for the exact total for the last month and a half. We also have had a young married couple visit us for six weeks now. There names are David and Miranda. They are eager to learn and even helped  decorate for our Anzac Day services. David is a officer in the Air force. Miranda’s specialty is wedding decorating. They are a lovely couple.  Also, a month ago we received a phone call from a lady asking if we did nursing home visits and asked if we would go by and visit her aunt that is 92 with some dementia. She had asked people at her church (Nelson Bay Baptist) but has had no response. I told her that she was not obligated to come to our service just because I make the visit and her response was there were some issues that they weren’t happy with anyway. After them being gone for two weeks, the niece that rang us came and visited Sunday for our Anzac services. There were 12 there Sunday and we honored Allan (a Vietnam Veteran) and David who is currently serving; with a certificate & Charles Spurgen’s morning & evening devotions book for their service for our country. Another lady came in after services and said she is looking for a church to go to when she is in our area. Her name is Kerrie. She said she will be coming in the future.

One of our ladies had an exciting time with door knocking. She was able to go through the plan of salvation using Bro. Denise Corle’s “Reaching the World one door at a time”, that we have been using for sometime now. He did not receive Christ but he at least has heard the gospel and is without excuse. The survey seems to open the door a little more and gets people’s attention.

For an update on some people, Goan the Pilipino lady is not able to come to church due to bad knees. She is on the waiting list for knee replacements. Please pray for her during this time. The other lady Betty Huby hasn’t come yet but my wife and Nichola go by and visit her in her home. The heat has kept her in and she tells them she will get by there some day. She is elderly and lives on her own. She is a nice lady and knows she has a home in heaven. Our Easter services were a blessing as well. David and Miranda brought her sister, her son, and his friend from the air force. We also had a family visit us again that used to come to church before they moved to Sydney due to his police training. There was also an American couple there as well. They are leaving for America the first of May. The Lord blessed us with 15 that day. Last Sunday night we had a man come all the way from Lemon Tree Passage because the churches in his area do not have evening services which he misses.

Our prayers are that God would richly bless you for your support & prayers for the work He is doing here.

In His Service,
